01Start with the usable load space
Confirm internal length, width and height rather than relying on the vehicle’s nominal size. Record obstructions and any handling clearance. Use the loading meter calculator for a first floor-area estimate; it does not verify the actual arrangement.
02Keep pallet and carton planning connected
If goods are palletized, distinguish the pallet footprint, the loaded height and any permitted overhang. For floor-loaded cartons, use the external shipping dimensions. Consistent inputs help your team compare realistic loading options.
03Discuss the dispatch sequence
Tell the team which goods need to be accessible first and which stops matter. Confirm how your required sequence can be supported during the trial. Axle loads, cargo securing and legal load limits require appropriate operational checks; our free calculators do not calculate them.
