Pallet Configuration Calculator

How many cartons fit on a pallet?

02 / Your estimate

Enter your dimensions to see the numbers.

Estimates only. Allow for tolerances, packaging, weight, stability and handling clearance. Volume alone does not establish a feasible or safe loading plan.

How this calculator works

Cartons per layer = the larger of floor(pallet length ÷ carton length) × floor(pallet width ÷ carton width), and the grid with carton length and width swapped. Layers = floor(maximum cargo height ÷ carton height). No mixed-orientation packing, overhang, weight or stacking-strength checks are included.

Practical loading guides

Pallet configuration, palletization and TI × HI

Use one carton size to compare two uniform orientations. The geometric estimate combines cartons per layer (TI) and full cargo layers (HI). It does not search mixed or interlocking patterns.

TI/HI formulas, layout diagrams and height examples →

Does HI mean the height in centimetres?

No. HI is the number of layers. Physical cargo height and overall loaded height are separate measurements.

Does the height input include the pallet?

No. Enter the clear height available above the pallet. Subtract the pallet height first if your limit covers the whole loaded unit.

Does this calculator check weight or carton strength?

No. It provides a geometric estimate for one carton size in two uniform orientations. Check packaging strength, weight and operating limits separately.
